Information collected

Through this site, I collect only the following.

your first and last name;
your email address;
your phone number, if you choose to provide it;
the subject and message you enter in the form.

No medical, detailed financial, banking or social insurance number information is collected by this site. Such information is collected only during a meeting, with your explicit consent and using the insurer's official forms.

Purpose of collection

Information submitted through the form is used solely to contact you about your enquiry and, where applicable, to schedule a consultation. It is used for no other purpose.

It is never sold, rented, traded, or used for unsolicited commercial communications.

Consent

The form requires explicit consent before submission. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to alexandre.tanguay@agc.ia.ca. Withdrawal ends the use of your information and, on request, results in its deletion, subject to retention obligations imposed by law and by the regulations applicable to certified representatives.

Disclosure to third parties

Your information may be disclosed to the following parties.

to Cabinet Magog, as part of the oversight of my practice and the supervision of my professional traineeship;
to an insurer, only if you decide to submit an insurance application and with your consent at that time;
to the provider hosting this site's form (Hostinger International Ltd.), acting as a processor.

The form on this site and the hosting of its pages are provided by Hostinger International Ltd., whose servers serving North America are located in the United States. Information you send through the form is therefore kept outside Quebec. That transfer is covered by the privacy impact assessment required under the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, and the provider is bound by a written agreement governing the use and protection of that information. You can ask me for a copy of the assessment summary.

Retention

Requests received through the form are kept for twelve months if they do not lead to a business relationship. Where a business relationship is established, the retention periods set out in the regulations applicable to representatives in insurance of persons apply.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Access to requests received is limited to me and, for supervision purposes, to my traineeship supervisor. As no security measure is infallible, avoid sending sensitive information by form or unencrypted email.

Cookies

If you have accepted audience measurement and a form is successfully sent, the site sets a temporary cookie containing only the form type (contact or questionnaire). It contains no name or contact details, expires after two minutes and is removed when the confirmation page is read.

Audience measurement. The site may use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are viewed. That tool sets cookies and sends Google data about you, including your truncated IP address, the page viewed and information about your device. That data is processed on servers located outside Quebec.

With your agreement, Analytics also measures visits to the contact form, the start of form entry, opening the questionnaire, confirmed requests, and clicks on telephone or email links. These events contain no contact details, message text or questionnaire answers.

Nothing loads before you agree. No Google script is downloaded and no cookie is set until you accept in the banner shown on your first visit. Refusing changes nothing to how the site works, and your refusal is remembered so the question does not come back on every page.

You can change your mind at any time. Review my cookie choice.

The Contact page offers a Google Maps map, but it appears only after you click. As long as you do not ask for it, nothing is sent to Google and no cookie is set. If you choose to display it, Google then receives your IP address and may set cookies. The office address is written out just above, so you do not need the map to find it.

Your rights

You have the right to access the information I hold about you, to request its correction, to request its deletion and to withdraw your consent. Write to alexandre.tanguay@agc.ia.ca; I reply within 30 days.

If you are dissatisfied, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. For any question about my professional practice, you may contact the Autorité des marchés financiers or the Chambre de la sécurité financière.
